New Trims and Trinkets

After a lovely weeks break at the beach in Wales, where the sun shone every day I have come back refreshed and ready to start work with new ideas and energy.
There are still lots of weddings around to make lovely head wear for and orders for Autumn events too.
I am also making my new ideas for Autumn and winter products including hats and accessories with gorgeous tweed and wools.
Rebecca, bryony and Melissa have now left and it's always strange when my interns that have been working with me for such a long time no longer breeze through the door every morning.
However I am now working with Helena and Evangeline and we are busy with many projects.
I must admit it's the time of year when I am busy planning Christamas which always seems far to early but must be done.

Anniversary

Today I celebrated another year at the shop and I was joined throughout the day by lots of friends and clients both old and new.
The weather was pretty miserable but there was lots of laughing inside as we remembered events, dramas and even window displays.
Everybody drank mulled wine and mulled cider to keep out the chill and the homemade mince pies disappeared very quickly. Lots of lovely presents were purchased ladies were selecting items they loved for partners to buy and generally we had a great day.
I can't quite believe I have been open for 8 years but I if I could add up the hats that have been made it that time it might be a real shock.
So it's onward and forward from here with new designs and ideas in the new year, Christmas first though.!

A look around the Hat Shop

This morning while the sun was out I took a few photo's of the shop as I don't have a 'virtual tour' version at the moment.
On Dec 1st I will have been open for 7 years so will be hosting a celebration and Christmas Fair with lots of textile gift ideas to choose from so if you are local do pop in for drinks and nibbles. I will also be giving at luncheon talk in Leeds for a group of ladies who work in the city. We are all meeting at a restaurant called Create, I thought that was very apt.!.I will be taking along millinery materials, and a selection of finished headwear for them to try on etc.
Finally some of my work will be featured in a Finnish wedding magazine. I think that's quite enough for one week. The following week is just as busy so I better get back to some sewing.
