March Madness

Last week was all the sewing and hat making as usual but I also had a photo shoot of some new hats and head wear, a Charity event and my new hat boxes arrived. 

My very clever pal Shelly of  Toast Of Leeds came over with her magic camera and together with the lovely Lucy of  I am Lucille who wore some of here own creations and also some vintage dresses

plus gorgeous jewellery made by my friend  Rachel Lucie

Shelly has taken some amazing photographs in Lucy's studio in Hebden Bridge,

when I recive images I shall blog and shout about them. 

These few shots were taken on my phone so the quality isn't great but it gives you a flavour of whats to come.

My new hat boxes also arrived a rather lovely simple shade of Ivory with simple almost tea stained twisted rope handles.... NICE.! Looks great with the big new logo HT in the centre.

So this week we head towards Easter and I shall be getting ready to go to Lythan St Annes in Lancashire where I will be a part of Hopefull and Glorious Easter event.

New designs New on line shop

 

As it is now officially summer wedding season here in  the U.K. I like many other milliners am very busy making hats and head wear for lovely summer weddings. It's unseasonably cold at the moment [no change there really] but the ladies are not letting that stop them from wearing gorgeous outfits and creative head pieces.
I am also busy re stocking my shop on What I always wanted  here's a couple of the designs modelled by artist Julia Ogden  who is aslo my neighbour. They will all be for sale next week on their site.
My other project is keeping me up late at night and as the words describe I shall soon have my own on line boutique where there will be a selection of everything I sell in the real shop from head wear to scarves and accessories. I will post a 'fanfare' when it's good to go.!
Also this week in the post was a Finnish wedding magazine that I have been featured in, I can't read it but never mind. All those ace pic's from Toast of Leeds speak for themselves.

Dark Shadows Shoot

A few weeks ago Shelly from Toast invited me to join the many talented people involved in her Dark Shadows shoot. Shot in the chapel at Rudding Park Hotel not far from the spa town of Harrogate North Yorkshire, Shelly has really captured this beautiful old building with such skill and somehow made it all look effortless.
I made three headpieces, one was a black rippled velvet cross embellished with gunmetal grey swarovski glass pearls and biot feathers, the second a sequined headband made from a piece of vintage petersham ribbon with black coq feathers and three tall feathers.
Lastly I made a black crin veil with eyelashes.! It has a very fine silver feather and a black bow trimmed with seed beads were the veil comes together at the top.
There are many more exquisite photographs which I will add to the post as soon as I can, but I just wanted to share these first.
