A Week in Green

It's been a week of wild weather, Sunshine, hail, wind, rain and anything else mother nature has had in her back pocket.
So it's been heads down in the workroom making some lovely hats for various events and for the shop to add to our ready to wear collection.
There's been several ladies flat caps made in various colours that are adjustable with a strap and popper at the back, it makes them slightly more feminine and a great fit. Perfect for those who need a hat for the great outdoors or just love a nice flat cap.
The trilby in Chartreuse green and chocolate brown which has been named  ' Havava' has gone down a treat with much 'Oh I wish I was going somewhere' talk I expect it will be off somewhere rather swish quite soon.
I now have all the photographs from the photo shoot and will be showing them off next time.
Have a lovely week whatever you are doing.

Photo Shoot Day

This Monday the sun was out and I was very relieved as I had a photo shoot. Umbrellas not required.!

There will be  lots of terrific pictures of the shoot in a few days time which will show off the delights of Hebden Bridge.
I was joined by Debbie owner of  Zeitgeist a FABULOUS cutting emporium where every cut is perfection.
Together we put together a shoot based around the film  'A boy a girl and a bike' filmed locally in1949 and tells the story of working mill girls who belong to a cycling club.
Our clothing was supplied by a local boutique Amelia and a lovely make up artist Aimee came to dust cheeks, apply lashes and all other kinds of make up magic.
Spring seems to be here and the valley where I live has been beautiful esp the canal.
When the photographs are ready to post I will be back with another instalment of 'A boy a girl and a bike'
As Shelly from  Toast say's 'don't rush my genius'.  However she is a genius in general especially with a camera.! She also has the most incredible new web site.

Sunshine On The Doorstep

Last week was half term so we took a trip to a museum in Manchester. The big red brick buildings with all their Victorian pomp and ceremony are always impressive and inspiring. I love all the details in the brickwork over doors and windows.
There were a couple of very last minute wedding needs. Luckily I was able to make them in time and the sun shone for the wedding which is always what you hope for.
I have also had some lovely spring sunshine on my doorstep which is keeping my hellebore happy. Always nice to be greeted by a happy plant as you enter a shop.

Next week I shall be involved in a very unusual photo shoot so there will be some great pictures to share, I'm just crossing my fingers for a blue sky and no rain.! The felt beret will be taking part in the shoot. The lattice felt strips remind me of a cherry pie top.
