Citrus twist

There's lots of colour around this season so I have made a simple black cocktail hat but edged it in orange cotton and piped it with a green braid. The patterned silk makes a great contrast to the simple orange and the black corded lace gives it a little height, which sits nestled in the silk trim, secured with a green bead.
I have also made a neck scarf and head band in the same fabric as a well as a clutch bag in the orange cotton. It's very striking and would be perfect with a black dress.
It's just been put on display in the shop and I really love the vibrancy it brings to the top of my teak desk.

Race Day

Just finished and off to the races tomorrow. It's one of those tones that change in the light and can appear very different. Always tricky when looking for accessories.
However help was at hand in the form of two beautiful shades of silk.
This client also had a silk clutch bag made in the lighter silk of the petals and her shoes were almost the same colour.
Once everything was tried on together the combination was perfect.
Hope she backs a winner.

A day at the races

The racing season has begun and Ladies' day is the one time you can dress to impress, in any style you like. There's no limits when it comes to colour or shape.
Only the Royal enclosure at Ascot will require you to cover your head, it's a no no to flirty fascinators here.
I am making some terrific shapes for the races at the moment, whilst also adding to my cocktail hat selection with options for last minute.com ladies. If you know what I mean.
Retro inspired pieces are still a hot ticket this year, lets hope mine will be winners in the style stakes.
