October Not Quite As I Planned

Hello folks well just I was starting to feel better a virus had other ideas for me, namely the virus labyrithitis and I'm sure those of you who have had it will be thinking 'oh no'
There's been no blogging, no sewing, and not much to laugh about as it literally felled me !
However I am now up and about (not ready to set the workroom on fire) but enough to start a plan of action again.
Here's a little selction of things that have been made or inspired over the last 3 weeks.
I can tell you that fabulous felt hat making will be starting on Tues as well as some new bag shapes and selection of smaller seasonal gift ideas.
Here's to a better November.  Chrissie x

February The Month Of Love

Finally the mornings and evenings are getting lighter and although we have had copious amounts of rain in the last few months, today was blue Sky's and sunshine.
I am still without a shop/workroom until walls dry out so I'm still making from the kitchen table.
On a quick trip out I popped into a local antiques shop and found several lovely sewing themed items including an old metal hat box. I already own two, so I left the shop quickly before I was tempted to add to my collection !
Last week I had my pop up shop in The Old Tree House, this week I have a selection for sale in a local hair salon 'Zeitgeist' and it looks great from the outside.
[not bad inside either]

Vintage wedding Fair

On Sunday I left home bright and early to go to East Riddlesden hall for their vintage wedding fair.

Shelly from Toast photography was set up across from me so there were plenty of laughs and witty chat in between the flow of wedding fair visitors.

Holly my intern came along with me and made her very own head wear which was much admired

There were so many lovely set ups including Emma bespoke wedding flowers
Beautiful jewellery from Saving face jewellery

I was next to a lady who made hand made wedding pies. Not your average pie, these were pretty if a pie can be pretty.

I was able to use my lovely hand drawn sign again by artist Julia Ogden

Gorgouse table settings from Simply Vintage Events

I took along my woodland crown, cuffs and corsage which is hand crocheted, wired and strewn with crystals. One bride is coming to try on at the shop with her dress, this is a very particular wedding style so she was very happy to find it.

Hand painted signs from Barn Studio Signs

A whole table full of treasure from Vintage Strawberry who had some incredible vintage gowns.

The whole event was really lovely

What a beautiful timber roof.

So after much chatting to ladies who are now coming to the shop to sort out their upcoming wedding head wear, I went home very happy and with very tired feet.
