Merry Christmas from the Hat Shop

All my Christmas orders are just about done and I have a bowler hat order to finish for the weekend. There has been lots of accessories made and bought as well as hats in just about every colour you can think of.
This weekend will be busy but I have still time to make a few more lovely things for the shop.
This year the decorations are all made from hand cut pieces of felt with a bird, berry and leaf theme in rich warm colours.
You can see from this post that the shop has had a re paint in very different shades from my black and red that I've had for 7 years, but I really love it and it keeps much cleaner.!

In January I shall begin making hats for spring events and weddings and will be very busy creating a special range of wedding designs for the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza in March. I hope to take lots of pictures as they are created, everything will be made from unusual materials so don't forget to pop back in January to see what I'm up to.
That just leaves me to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy new year and a big thank you for reading my little blog.

Neck wraps and Cloche Caps

On Saturday I took a selection of hats and accessories to a Christmas Fair not too far away from Hebden Bridge and had a lovely time meeting ladies who loved hats. Here's a few things I took with me. A rich Violet cloche cord cap with a vintage buckle, matching neck wrap with large red button and a wool plaid beret and neck cuff.
I sold lots of lovely things which I hope will bring a few smiles on Christmas morning and also have a few more orders to add to my list. Tomorrow I am off to hunt for fabric and am crossing everything that I will be lucky as I really need several pieces to complete hat orders for Christmas.I could also do with making a couple of presents for friends....we'll see how this week goes first.!

Happy Birthday Hat Therapy

Today my little shop has been open for 7 years, it has flown by and no I haven't counted how many hats and accessories have been sold but it's quite a few. The Christmas decorations have been made [top two pictures, this year was felt leaves, birds and berries] On Monday I gave a hat talk to a group of business ladies at lunch in Leeds, most of them were in the financial sector so our working worlds were very different, but we all had a love of hats. The rest of the week was trying to make enough items to fill the shop ready for my anniversary event today and finish off orders like the grey felt trilby for a winter wedding.  Lots of ladies came to help me celebrate and the sales I had were amazing. so you can guess what I'll be up to next week.
