Have A Little 'FAITH'

Introducing 'Faith' the latest hat of the block made by Evangeline who has been interning with me since last July. This hat will be her final piece as she leaves today in readiness to return to uni in Sept.
Evangeline and has progressed with all construction in a every way and can now boast hand made hats to her abilities.
This lovely Spanish influenced hat is made from knotted straw for the brim and fine straw in pink for the crown. Trims have been added in a grey petersham ribbon creating soft loops at the side of the crown and as a band around the hat, with a touch of grey sparkle for good measure.
So simple yet so stylish I'm sure it will make someone very happy to be wearing this hat to a wedding or the races.
Marks out of 10.?   At least 14 don't you think?

Denim Bags And Hats

Denim has been around for a long time, since the late 18th century. It now comes in many colours and is used to make all sorts of garments.
This piece that I bought has a  really nice tone and texture and I have used the lighter side and mixed it with other fabrics to create two distinctive bags and a cap.
One bag is a cross body and the other a shoulder bag. They are strong and roomy  and fasten with a magnetic popper so perfect to use everyday.
The little cap has the reverse side of the denim cloth used as the trim through the vintage leather buckle.
Both bags are £45 and the cap is also £45.

Summer Linen Hat & Neck Wrap

Summer linen, not every body's favourite due to it's ability to crease, but I love it.
Good quality linen is so soft and lovely to wear, very supple making it great to sew with.
The cap and neck wrap are perfect for the summer months and a lovely hoilday duo.
Wear with a simple white t shirt for a crisp fresh look.
They will both be on the website later this week.

The Paleo Broth Company

This is a break from the normal blog post but it's been a big part of family life for the last few months and in between hat making I have been busy helping my husband how ever I can as he prepared to launch his Paleo broth company.

As a family we have been Paleo for a couple of years and have found it a great way to eat and a healthy way to live.
If you would like to read a little about bone broth and it's benefits there is a link on the website, plus a recipe page you might like to read and try out.
So far the initial response has been really positive.Paleo life style is alive and well in the UK and growing all the time.

My Hat shop neighbour Ed Chadwick has been responsible for the branding and styling plus the wonderful photography. He also runs  Snug Gallery  showcasing the very best in contemporary craft in the UK. If you visit Hebden Bridge make sure to pop along Market Street and make a visit.
So if you decide you'd like to get some bone broth in your fridge you know where to get it from.
Now back to the Hatting.
