Talented Friends And Glorious Hats

A couple of weeks ago I wanted to shoot some new designs and as ever my first call is always to Shelly of Toast Photography who always take images to knock your socks off.
I also asked the very talented Lucy who wore some of her own creations and some of her very special vintage dresses from her vintage boutique. Lucy's talents include singer /songwriter and owner of  the gorgeous I am Lucille frock shop here in Hebden Bridge.
Then we needed the accessories and the beautiful jewellery made by my friend Rachel Lucie   also based in Hebden Bridge added the right amount of pearl and sparkle. The three little words pearl necklace looked fantastic.
We had lots of laughs, moved furniture around, stood on tables, used Lucy's shop
{ downstairs from her sewing studio} Lucy and The Caterpillar  to provide super backdrops and generally had a great time together.
The rest as they say is... the above. As always I'm thrilled with the results.

Thanks Ladies. x

Bright Hats and Blue Skys

The sun is out at last.! So this morning I took a quick walk around town before I started work and everywhere looked beautiful.
This bright coral hat has been made by fusing together two layers of pink and one layer of orange sinamay. It's great for the warmer weather as it's very light to wear.
Sometimes I need to create a colour usuing this technique as it's not always possible to get an exact colour match but this really gives a colourful hue.
The zingy fabric used to make little petals for the trim add to the vibrancy and overal appeal and with a great shape it's sure to get plenty of attention.

A Lovely Weekend

So Last Sat and Sun I was at Lythall Hall which was a lovely place on the flyde coast.
The weather was good and there were many visitors to the craft fair.
Together with my friends Rachel Lucie and Cathy Edwards we made our corner of the room look great.
I made many new items to take with me from bags to hats and accessories.
The first hat I sold was a very sharp looking felt trilby and the lady just fell in love with it, In fact she just sat for a good 10 minutes just happy in her own little hat bubble, then left with her hat box feeling very happy.
My mustard bag was a big hit and linen hats and pashminas sold well.
So It's back to the shop now and after a big tidy up and move around of tables and selections I am now getting ready for East Riddlesden Hall as I am showing my wedding range on Sunday.
I am just about to make a bridal headpiece now so I better get going.

Happy Easter

Easter weekend and today the sun is shining, although we have had very mixed days  all week from sunny and warm to cold and more like winter.
The blossom is out on some of the trees and it just makes everything look lovely.
Next Sat I will be in Lytham in Lancs at the Hopeful and Glorious event so if you are local you might like to come along and say hello.
Hats are now filling the shop and disappearing just as quick.
Hats for weddings, Ascot and lots of other glamorous events around the country as well as weddings overseas. Italy seems to be the top destination this weekend. Two so far have left the shop in there smart boxes destined for Sorrento and Rome.
So what ever you are up to this weekend enjoy the sunshine and a little chocolate.!
