All About The Bag

I have some lovely wool kilt fabric in different tones so we have been making a few for the shop this week. Kilt wools are thick and very strong so lend themselves for bag making.
I am also loving using a little velvet ribbon as fastenings which comes in beautiful colours.
The bottom bag was made from a lovely wool and cotton mix pinstripe fabric with a beret to match.
I put it in one of my windows and had a phone call from someone who had spotted it while walking past and wanted to buy it before it disappeared.
The shoulder straps on all the bags are vintage petersham ribbons from the 40's of which I have several rolls but once I've used them they will be difficult to replace, they are so fine and silky.
So it's almost the end of the summer holidays, it's gone so fast but I've managed to do a few lovely things with my family and keep the shop going.
I love making winter hats and accessories so today a box of felts arrived, now all I need to do is turn them into hats.!

New Trims and Trinkets

After a lovely weeks break at the beach in Wales, where the sun shone every day I have come back refreshed and ready to start work with new ideas and energy.
There are still lots of weddings around to make lovely head wear for and orders for Autumn events too.
I am also making my new ideas for Autumn and winter products including hats and accessories with gorgeous tweed and wools.
Rebecca, bryony and Melissa have now left and it's always strange when my interns that have been working with me for such a long time no longer breeze through the door every morning.
However I am now working with Helena and Evangeline and we are busy with many projects.
I must admit it's the time of year when I am busy planning Christamas which always seems far to early but must be done.
